UTSI Packaging Machinery Service Technician

A UTSI service technician has mechanical skills and feels comfortable taking apart machinery, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions. Service Technicians work on a variety of strapping, taping, and wrapping machinery products. This includes items set to our facilities or, called out to a customer’s location to investigate machinery and components, document findings, and conducts quality assurance of machinery repair. Technicians are responsible for the verification of issues and conduct inspections, tests, and reviews of equipment and instruments for quality control and preventive maintenance programs. Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on strapping, wrapping, tape systems, and other packaging process machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and efficiently troubleshoot and resolve problems to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections to ensure optimal machine performance and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks to minimize production disruptions.
• Provide training and support to operators and maintenance staff on the proper operation and maintenance of packaging machinery.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies related to packaging machinery to enhance our service offerings and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
• Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of packaging machinery, including strapping machines, wrapping equipment, and tape systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques, with a focus on quick and effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and provide clear instructions and guidance.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
